CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2025/2026 CO-OP YEAR
WHEN CAN WE JOIN?
We begin accepting applications in late spring for the co-op year that runs September through May. We have rolling admission until spots are filled. Joining mid-year is possible as spots open up – feel free to ask!
HOW MUCH IS TUITION?
Co-op: $400 per family for the full year (September-May) TENT: $200 per family for teens (September-May), or included for co-op families.
WHAT AGES CAN ATTEND?
Our co-op is designed for school-aged children 5 - 17. Younger siblings are always welcome to attend with their families.
WHERE DO YOU MEET?
We meet outside only in several locations in central Baltimore County.
CAN I DROP MY KIDS OFF?
No, we are not a drop-off co-op. If a child is on-site, a parent or responsible adult must also be on-site.
WHAT IS THE "BRING A FRIEND" OPTION?
Two registered families can agree that one parent supervises both families' children while at co-op. Everyone must be registered, have paid tuition, and completed all required paperwork. This is community support between families, not drop-off care.
WHAT IF WE USE CURRICULUM AT HOME?
Great! Our families use different learning approaches at home. What matters is that you value the self-directed, mixed-age experience we offer here at co-op.
WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
We meet rain, snow, or shine unless it's truly dangerous (active thunderstorms, blizzards, extreme conditions). You'll learn to dress for weather and discover that outdoor time in all conditions is actually quite wonderful.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE CONFLICTS BETWEEN CHILDREN?
We trust children to work out their own conflicts, but adults are available to help when needed. We might offer guiding questions or ensure everyone involved gets heard. We prioritize restoring relationships while resolving conflicts.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS DIFFERENT?
They'll fit right in! Whether your child is quiet, loud, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, or just unique - our self-directed environment creates space for everyone to be themselves. Our members value authenticity and respect for each person exactly as they are.
WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES?
We are committed to inclusion. Our self-directed approach lets children learn at their own pace. Because we do meet outside, there may be some access challenges we can't control - we leave this to your discretion.
WHAT ABOUT PHOTOS?
We do share some photos of our community but we never use names or tag people. You will complete a photo release form indicating your preferences about photos of your family. We respect your preferences.
If you have more questions for us – just send a message with your remaining questions and we will be in touch soon.
